Before & Happy Ever After

Before this backyard underwent its stunning transformation, it was definitely in need of some serious work.  It was visually unappealing with an old shed, unattractive clothesline, patchy grass and a large overgrown garden bed.  It had always been the owners’ dream to have a pool so they finally decided to take the plunge and purchased their pool and spillway spa combination from Aldo at the Aqua Technics display centre in Mandurah.

There were many deciding factors behind their reason to finally install a pool, with the main one being the fact they are a very social family with three active teenagers. They loved the prospect of entertaining friends and family with a BBQ and a swim on a hot day, not to mention the idea of spending the balmy, summer evenings in the pool with a cold drink.  Having a safe place for their kids to socialise with their friends while making lifelong memories was another very important factor driving their decision. They also knew the addition of a heated mineral pool and spa would increase the value of their family home.

When deciding which pool model to select, the size, equipment, colour and design were paramount. The clients chose their selected design to get the most benefit out of the size and position of their yard.  The 8m x 4m Valentina was the perfect size pool for their needs as it was large enough to accommodate a very social family, while leaving space for landscaping and entertaining areas. The Centro Spillway Spa was the perfect addition to the Valentina as it gives the parents the perfect place to sit and relax away from boisterous teenagers! Being able to heat the spa separately allows for optimal use of the pool area most of the year. They chose the colour Platinum from the Crystalite^® ColourGuard range as it is modern and complements the interior colour scheme of their home perfectly. The holographic glitter provides them with the most exquisite, crystal-clear blue water that sparkles in the sun. They absolutely adore Platinum and would recommend it to anybody.

Their suburb is renowned for limestone, however they were fortunate enough to not encounter any rock during the dig.  Aldo and the installation team kept them informed on what to expect both in the lead up to and during the installation process. They had been prepared for any costs that would have been incurred should they have hit limestone during the installation and were very confident the team would have handled the situation extremely professionally in the worst-case scenario.

To finish off the renovation, the clients used a combination of Roma Travertine from Freostone, lush high quality artificial turf and a combination of glass and aluminium fencing. They incorporated a limestone planter box, filling it with palms, hibiscus and frangipanis to give the yard a tropical feel. A unique addition is their large pergola featuring two stunning elephant water features with more tropical plants and a beautiful gazebo area with mosquito netting and curtains. In the evening, the yard is lit up with festoon lighting and fairy lights. All of these elements combined give the yard a five-star resort feel. It is their own backyard paradise.
