Aqua Technics - Awards
Australia's most awarded company
Aqua Technics has proudly received numerous industry awards, including Swimming Pool & Spa Association Awards of Excellence, both locally and nationally. We have also been awarded several international Awards of Excellence, proof that the quality of our pools is recognised world-wide.
Here are just a few of our most recent accolades.
This stunning geometric style pool has completely transformed what was once an under-utilised sloping grass area containing some small garden sheds. The block has quite a steep slope from the street (4m drop) so significant retaining needed to be incorporated on most sides. Access was via the rear property. The owners chose to install a pool as they felt their children were at a good age (5-9 years old) and they saw an opportunity to add value to their property and improve the overall aesthetics of the backyard.
The owners selected this pool design as it included a large bench to one side, which they thought would be good for young kids and all ages to utilise. Their children have used it a lot and find it provides a level of comfort in the water as an area of reprieve while swimming. The light pool colour was chosen to reflect a traditional white beach sand base and provide a clearer water finish. The owners are very happy with the outcome.
A stone clad feature wall with a floating bench is a glamorous feature at one end of the pool and the grey limestone pavers from Ecostone perfectly complement the pool colour. Blade fencing along one side of the pool combined with contemporary soft landscaping create an overall high end finish for the entire area.
Highly Commended
2020 SPASA Awards of Excellence This 9.8m x 3.4m fibreglass pool in Hamptons Blue was installed on the second level terrace of The Adnate hotel located at 900 Hay Street Perth. With an early 7am Saturday morning installation start, the pool was carefully craned up to the second level terrace, which sits to the left of the 27-storey hotel tower. The pool was installed into a concrete pit and 34 bags of sand and cement backfill were craned up with it. The first stage of the installation was completed by 11am, with the backfill completed the following day.
Two integrated stainless steel ladders were installed for easy access in and out of the pool. Sand and cement backfill was used to backfill the pool, which then had to be waterproofed before landscaping was completed. A unique feature of this project is the location of the plant room, which is located 5m above the pool. Some hard work and patience was needed to complete the equipment install.
The pool has a constant depth of 1.5m and 7 LED lights feature along one wall. The floors below the pool terrace level consist of retail outlets.
This 5 acre property was scruffy bush and scrub with large trees before the pool installation. The owners opted to add a pool as the area was very hot and dusty. Several large trees were removed to allow room for the pool and other recreational areas including a tennis court, cricket pitch, putting green and basketball court. The owners want their space to be fun! As size was not an issue, the owners chose a large 9.5m x 4.45m pool with a 4m x 2m Aqua Ledge at the shallow end. They love the Aqua Ledge with the sun lounges as it gives a Bali resort feel - great for laying around with a couple of cocktails. It will also be the perfect paddling area for their future grandchildren. They also added spa jets to the seating ledge in the pool to further enhance the resort feel and deliberately chose a pool with a safety ledge for extra safety when grandchildren come along.
During the installation of the Aqua Ledge, particular attention needed to be given to waterproofing between the headers and the Aqua Ledge edge beam. The join between the pool and the ledge also needed adequate waterproofing, with mosaic tiles attractively concealing the insert. Compaction between the pool and Aqua Ledge area was also needed prior to its installation. As there is no water to the property, it needed to be brought in by trucks.
The owners chose a light blue colour which they love as it is very soft and with the added glitter sparkles from every angle. Stone aggregate was added with runs over the edge of the pool and a timber lined cabana at one end. An electric heat pump was included so the owners can use the pool for longer.
The owners believe the pool has made the property something special. People say it has turned their bush block into a resort!!
Aqua Technics undertook a renovation of its Joondalup display centre in September 2017 with the installation of four new pools and landscaping renovation around the 11m Torino. The project was completed just three months later in December.
Three of the new pools were small plunge pool styles to stafisy the ever increasing demand of smaller block sizes. The Latina at 4.5m x 3.5m, the Allure at 5.0m x 2.5m, the Sentosa at 5.5m x a narrow 2.15m and the Saint-Remy Pool & Spa Combination which was designed off the original pool and spa combination design, the ‘Aqua-gym’.
The area was designed by the Director of the company with a Moroccan theme to reflect current trends in outdoor design. Utilising different levels, products, textures and colours, every element was designed internally by Aqua Technics.
Dual Olympian Blair Evans is in her second year as the Brand Ambassador with Aqua Technics.
In the lead up to the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast this year we were able to lure Blair in front of the camera to create a series of spots to include two corporate documentaries, a Regional WA TV campaign and a metro radio campaign.
The first corporate version sees Blair on film encouraging families to teach their children how to swim just as she had done in her back yard pool as a child. The second version has a distinctive Aqua Technics 40 year history flavour to it with vision in and around the Jandakot manufacturing facility.
The radio campaign was aired through the summer months with Blair promoting the “I learnt to swim in my back yard pool” story.
This Aqua Technics Commercial project was completed at the Meath Care retirement village in Trigg. An extension on the existing clubhouse commenced in early 2015, which included replacement of the existing swimming pool.
The new 11m x 2.5m Hamilton fibreglass pool finished in Crystalite ColourGuard was installed while building works were being completed. The finished pool includes grab rails on one side for safe, easy access for the residents. The depth is a constant 1.4m, which suits the needs of the elderly residents who didn’t require a deep end.
Solar pool heating was installed so the residents can swim in a comfortable temperature for several months of the year.
