SMALLER POOLS THAT MAKE A BIG IMPACT
Having last year undergone a significant renovation to suit the needs of an evolving swimming pool market, Aqua Technics’ Joondalup showroom is fresh off critical recognition and gearing up for its first full summer in its current form. The showroom, which recently won a silver award in the Best Display Pool/Centre category at the West Australian Swimming Pool and Spa Association Awards of Excellence, has undergone a significant makeover in recent times. Four new pool areas are now on show at the northern suburban aquatic hotspot, with each featuring among the best in-house landscaping work on the market.
Reflecting changing consumer behaviours, three of the four new installations – the Latina, the Allure and the Sentosa – were plunge style models, included to satisfy demand for pools on smaller Perth blocks. The Sentosa, a 5.5m by 2.15m pool, has been designed with a Moroccan theme. Bordered by handmade Byron Bay floral tiles which meet white mosaic tiles at the waterline, the Sentosa showcases Aqua Technics’ new Indigo Snow colour. Sitting in front of a custom-designed laser cut screen attached to a feature wall, the pool exudes elegance, while lanterns positioned to the side tie in nicely. The 5m by 2.5m Allure install comes in Cyber Blue and is surrounded by 20mm Durapave tiling, a product stronger than stone which offers a durable alternative to natural timbers. An existing garden bed was retained, clad in Freo Stone Knapped Ice paving with travertine capping housing a three-layered plant design. The Latina measures 4.5m by 3.5m, complete with an extended bench seat which can be installed within 50cm of a boundary fence. The travertine header features a modern overhang lip, and the paving is also travertine. Meanwhile, a water blade offers soothing sounds as water cascades into the pool below.
The other, larger new install was the Saint-Remy pool and spa package, a modern take on the brand’s original pool and spa combination design, the Aqua-gym.The Saint-Remy features a Hamptons-style pergola with climbing wire for plants and trendy outdoor furniture. It comes in Twilight Pool ColourGuard, the brand’s most popular colour. These pools are among the many on show at Aqua Technics Joondalup, open Mondays to Fridays from 9am-5pm, Saturdays from 9am-4pm and Sundays from 12-4pm.
