WA’s Best Display Centre – Gold Winning Design

After an eighteen-month renovation affected by COVID delays and limited availability of various trades people, our Aqua Technics O’Connor display centre was finally complete and ready to submit as an entry into the SPASA Awards of Excellence. It was well and truly worth the effort when we received the gold award for Best Display Pool at the awards gala night held on the 1st of July.

We had been trading in this location for over 35 years and it was in desperate need of an update. A re-development plan was formulated and beginning in April 2021, this major renovation included the installation of eleven new pools and one Aqua Ledge. Only one pool remained from the previous display. Following the replacement of the pools, the construction of the new office building along with the landscaping around the pools began in January 2022, with works finishing in October. All final internal and external planting was completed in April 2023.

The brief was centred on creating a bright, light Hamptons style display. The pool models and colours were chosen in consultation with the Sales Consultants from the display centre. A new entrance ramp and steps lead into the brand-new office building that is furnished with modern furniture in the Hamptons style selected for the centre. The display centrepiece is a contemporary cabana with large palm shaped fans to match the Hamptons design for the display, situated alongside the Saint-Louis pool and spa combo display. A cane swinging chair secured in the cabana roof is the perfect place to take in the whole centre and enjoy the stunning display. An outdoor setting in the corner of the area is another zone created where you can relax while making your pool design and colour choices.

The Alto freestanding concrete encased display was a first and took a lot of innovation and engineering to achieve. The new Aqua Ledge design is connected to the Avellino and is displayed in our best-selling Cyrstalite® ColourGuard Twilight surface finish.

Many suppliers partnered with Aqua Technics to provide the finishing touches to make this centre the stunning display that it has been transformed into, including Freostone for paving, ACP Concrete, Brickworks bricks, limestone blocks and breeze blocks, Artificial Turf Direct and Newtech Wood decking and cladding.

An online display centre map, which can be accessed by simply scanning a QR code, details the features of the pools on display, including all the finishing touches that have been added to give each pool the wow factor.

The final result is a modern, state-of-the-art pool display that showcases the latest designs and colours Aqua Technics has to offer. Visitors to the centre can now be inspired create their dream outdoor living space, with loads of paving and landscaping ideas on show.
