Cherrata Lodge, Karratha
Requirements:
The client approached Aqua Technics Commercial (ATC) seeking a 15m x 5m pool for their new accommodation facility, Cherrata Lodge, in Karratha. ATC was advised the Lodge’s core customers would be senior executives in the mining and allied industries, hence it would be important for the pool to complement this profile. The client’s preference was for fibreglass rather than a concrete pool and ATC built a one-piece shell splicing together two fibreglass sections (each 7.5m long) to create a 15m long constant depth (1.5m) pool. The client chose a Pool ColourGuard finish taking advantage of the unrivalled fade protection offered by this unique (patented) technology. Inlays were added to the mould to create a recess over the joints, enabling them to be neatly concealed by colour-matched mosaic tiles laid flush with the adjoining surfaces. The one-piece shell was transported to site by road, with a two-man crew arriving separately to carry out installation and commissioning, which was accomplished in less than one week.
